It may feel impossible now, but you can feel less anxious and sad. You can regain your confidence. You can feel joy. And I can help you get there.
I’ll help through this process, tailoring each step to your unique needs and circumstances. My approach to narcissistic abuse therapy comes from a place of compassion and hope: believing that you are not the “problem,” and helping you fix the cycle that you find yourself in. We will work together to restore your confidence and sense of self so that you can be free of the cycle of humiliation and abuse.
A: Sessions are a combination of talk therapy and eye movement therapies like EMDR and ART. Because most adults who suffer narcissistic abuse were abused by a parent who was a narcissist, we use talk therapy to uncover early abuse and to connect it to what you are going through today. EMDR allows for the clearing of traumatic emotions and sensations from the past so that you can move forward in the present.
While the length of time in therapy will vary based on your individual circumstances and needs, I am committed to helping you feel better as quickly as possible using evidenced-based techniques like EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). These therapies and others like Internal Family Systems (IFS) allow for deeper healing in a shorter amount of time compared to talk therapy.
If you are motivated to make a change, then the chances are very good that therapy will work for you. In addition to my academic training and post-doctoral work, I have been helping people like you heal from narcissistic abuse for over twenty years.
